Director of Reunion Giving (June 2011 - July 2012)
After graduation, I was lucky enough to get offered a full-time position with my alma mater at the University of Evansville. I took this position in the Annual Giving Office to gain valuable experience in fundraising and development in higher education. This was a great opportunity for me to stay at a place that I was very familiar and cared about greatly.
Throughout my time at the University of Evansville, I have been significantly involved in many aspects of institutional advancement, such as: recruiting and managing alumni volunteers, collaborating with team members to implement direct mail solicitations, and cultivating prospective donors. During the past year, I created and implemented the first campus-wide Philanthropy Week. As part of Philanthropy Week, I coordinated our first 24-hr social media giving campaign, UEGIVE:24, which generated over 200 gifts and over $7000 in scholarship funds. Recently, I received my own prospect portfolio with an emphasis on young alumni, which has seen our Young Alumni President’s Club grow to over fifty members in the first year.
Adjusting to working full-time has been an experience. Everyone always said life was different after school, and they sure were right. I've been lucky enough to work with an amazing group of people that are great at what they do and care as much about the University. I'm going to continue to approach each day with a hard working and determined attitude, and I look forward to what the future holds.
